About  Library

The Central Library (Shishir Granthagar) of Ramkrishna Nagar College is  well equipped with modern ICT infrastructure having a separate building (2000 square feet area) in its premises. The library is named as “SHISHIR GRANTHAGAR” in the loving memory of the founder principal Late Shihsir Ranjan Kar Shastri. It has a collection of Books and Reference books of different subjects, academic journals, daily Newspapers and Magazines of different languages. It also has the institutional membership of N-List Program of  INFLIBNET. It provides access of electronic resources like e-books, e-journals and electronic databases. All students, faculty members and non-teaching staff of the college are entitled to make use of the library facilities. The library also renders service to people from outside the college community receiving due permission from the college authority.

Ramkrishna Nagar College library is partially automated with Integrated Library Management Software (ILMS) SOUL 3.0 from INFLIBNET Centre, Ahmadabad. The library has its Open Access System and a spacious reading room with 50 numbers of seating capacity. At present, the library holds about 9000+ printed books, subscription to 4 printed journals, 12 National Magazines, 5 Daily Newspapers.  Besides providing circulation facility with Barcoding system, the library also provides Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) to the users. It has a Barcode attendance System for its users along with smart Display Panel. At the same time, the college library provides reprographic facilities also. Users can also avail high speed  internet service in the library premises. Library is playing a pivotal role in spreading education and in inculcating reading habits among the stakeholders as well as in the community.
