About Me

I was born and raised in Hibbing on Minnesota's Iron Range. I am a graduate of Hibbing High School, Hibbing Community College and St. Cloud State. I've worked in the mines on the Iron Range, as a professional radio disc jockey and staff announcer for radio stations in Hibbing and St. Cloud, as a department manager for a "Big Box" home improvement store, as the donations manager for a large non-profit for 10 years and I've been a Computer Network Engineer for the past 23 years.

Jerri is my wife of 36 years and we have two daughters, Kelli and Kassi. The master of the house is Rudy, our 1 year old West Highland White Terrier.

I've volunteered as a member of the Champlin Planning Commission for 15 years, volunteered for 15 years as a coach for CDAA softball and basketball, served on booster clubs for Champlin Park High School, served on the Champlin Park Senior Party committee and volunteered time to several other area civic groups.

I coached for 10 years for Champlin's 2-time national girl's softball champion runner-up, Elm Creek

I fish as much as possible, hunt whenever I can, bowl any Monday in season when not at a city meeting and go camping in between.

I moved to Champlin in 1991 and started volunteering for the city on the "Y2K preparation committee". I was appointed to the Planning Commission in December of 2003 by Mayor Steve Boynton. I've served under Boynton, Mark Uglem, Armand Nelson and Ryan Karasek. I've served as Chair for the Planning Commission since December of 2008.
