Verb - A word that shows action or state of occurrence
3 different types of verbs
Action
a word that shows action
Examples: run, jump, skip, swim, think, eat and sleep
Linking
a word that connects the subject of a sentence to the predicate of a sentence without showing action,
Examples: looks, smells, seems, feels, sounds, become, and appear
State-of-being
also know as “to be” verbs, these verbs act like a linking verb, but only are formed from the verb be
Examples: am, is, are, was, were, will be, being, and been
