About: Hello! I'm Rizwan Zahoor, a passionate postdoctoral researcher delving into the exciting world of optoelectronics and advanced optical fiber sensors. Right now, I'm working on the "HFOG, High-resolution interferometric Fiber-Optic Gyroscopes for inertial sensing" project at the Istituto Nazionale di Ottica (INO), CNR, in Naples, Italy.
I strive to transform conventional optical fibers into highly sensitive and precise sensor networks. By utilizing theĀ Rayleigh scattering phenomenon, I create innovative solutions for real-time monitoring of temperature, strain, and acoustic signals. With a griped background in industrial and information engineering, I blend advanced Phase-OTDR and OFDR techniques with machine learning to open new frontiers in smart sensing.
In my current role, I focus on developing high-performance fiber-optic gyroscopes for inertial sensing. This involves implementing high-resolution interferometric techniques to enhance both sensitivity and precision. My work aims to advance optoelectronics while contributing to smarter, more sustainable fiber optic applications.
