I was born in Kolkata on May 24, 1996 to Anuradha and Kirity Gupta. The only child in a nuclear family, I was brought up with no complaints and lots of love interspersed with routine thrashings. My passion for science was evident from the numerous gadgets I broke to pieces (but didn't restore, of course) since I was about five. I studied at the Assembly of God Church School (Tollygunge) and was appointed Head Boy when I was in my senior year. St. Xavier's College, in Kolkata, became my next home from 2014-2017, where I majored in Physics and met my first mentor,  Prof. Tapati Dutta. I was fortunate to achieve my first publication during my final year - on the application of fractional calculus in Newton's law of cooling. My M.Sc. in Physics was from Calcutta University (popularly known as Rajabazar Science College) where I discovered the myriad nuances and the unavoidable charm of Physics. Under the influence of several stalwarts including Prof. Palash Baran Pal, Prof. Amitava Raychaudhuri,  Prof. Anindya Datta, and Prof. Anirban Kundu, I specialized in Particle Physics. Finally, in 2019, I became a junior research fellow at Harish Chandra Research Institute. Initially hell-bent on becoming a High-energy Physics researcher, I was steered towards Quantum Information Theory through the fantastic course taken by Prof. Aditi Sen (De), who is also my supervisor. Ever since, I have been working on quantum communication protocols, their realizations through continuous variable systems, the impact and surprising advantages of disorder, and quantum resource theories. I love to read, (re)watch movies and TV series, and listen to soft rock. My short life has been shaped by some of the strongest women I've shared time with - my mother, Tapati Dutta, and Aditi being my most prominent infuences.
