Q. Who is the River Trails librarian?
A. Mrs. Clifford has been the librarian at River Trails since 2016. She was a kindergarten teacher before becoming a librarian. Her favorite thing to do is read to students!
Q. Can I volunteer in the library?
A. YES! Mrs. Clifford is always looking for volunteers to help in the library with shelving books and assisting with our book fairs. If you are interested in volunteering your time, please email Mrs. Clifford at TeriClifford@hebisd.edu.
Q, What should I do if I can't find my library book?
A. Keep looking! Library books like to hide under furniture, under seats in your car, or just on a bookshelf among other books. Library books even hide in classrooms or at the bottom of lockers. Lost books usually turn up if we keep looking. If the book still isn't found after a few months, it will need to be paid for so Mrs. Clifford can replace it.
Q. What are Bluebonnet Books?
A. Bluebonnet books are part of a unique program that encourages reading for pleasure for students in grades 3 - 6. Each year, 20 books are chosen by librarians for the Texas Bluebonnet Award Master List. Schools and libraries around the state participate in the program, encouraging students to read a minimum of five books from the list. In January, students vote for their favorite title.

Q. What/when is the book fair?
A. Book fairs are an opportunity for students to self select books they are interested in and want to purchase. They are held in the library and a portion of the profits go back to our library to buy more books for students to enjoy. We have 2 book fairs a year. The first one is in October/November and the second one is after Spring Break.
