Any senior that is interested in taking the SAT on November 5^th must register before October 7^th. There will be a registration drive in the media center computer lab with Ms. James on Monday, September 26 during all 4 periods for those that want help with online registration. You MUST sign up for a time slot on the google doc posted in the Senior Google Classroom before you come! There will be a Senior Parent Information Night on Tuesday, September 27^th in the RHS Media Center @ 6pm. Parents & students are encouraged to come out to learn more about the steps to your child’s post-secondary plans. There will be gift card giveaways & refreshments served as well. The FREE Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) opens on October 1^st. Please complete this application as soon as you can! Institutions use the FAFSA to determine how much financial aid you’re eligible for. Student AND Parent/Guardian financial information is required to complete the FAFSA. Create your FSA ID today so you’re ready to start the FAFSA when it opens. https://studentaid.gov/fsa-id/create-account/launch See Ms. James with any questions!

The Residency Determination Service (RDS) must be completed in order to receive in-state tuition at all NC colleges and universities. If not completed, students will be billed with out-of-state tuition. FREE College Application Week is October 17^th-21^st. During this week, participating colleges (announced October 1^st) will waive their application fee and you can apply for FREE! It is encouraged to apply to as many schools as you can and make sure to know your Common App and/or CFNC account login info before that week. Ms. James will be available to assist students with applications in the media center computer lab on Mon/Wed/Fri. There will be a signup sheet out soon to select a time/date to come.

The CACRAO College Fair will be held on October 19^th in the media center from 8:30am-9:30am. College and university representatives from all over North Carolina will be there to share information about their schools with students. Juniors & Seniors, please come to school dressed appropriately (business casual) and come prepared with questions to ask the college reps.
