Any senior that is interested in taking the SAT on November 5th must register before October 7th. There will be a registration drive in the media center computer lab with Ms. James on Monday, September 26 during all 4 periods for those that want help with online registration. You MUST sign up for a time slot on the google doc posted in the Senior Google Classroom before you come! The FREE Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) opens on October 1st. Please complete this application as soon as you can! Institutions use the FAFSA to determine how much financial aid you’re eligible for. Student AND Parent/Guardian financial information is required to complete the FAFSA. The Residency Determination Service (RDS) must be completed in order to receive in-state tuition at all NC colleges and universities. If not completed, students will be billed with out-of-state tuition. FREE College Application Week is October 17th-21st. During this week, participating colleges (announced October 1st) will waive their application fee and you can apply for FREE! It is encouraged to apply to as many schools as you can and make sure to know your Common App and/or CFNC account login info before that week. Ms. James will be available to assist students with applications in the media center computer lab on Mon/Wed/Fri. There will be a signup sheet out soon to select a time/date to come.
The CACRAO College Fair will be held on October 19th in the media center from 8:30am-9:30am. College and university representatives from all over North Carolina will be there to share information about their schools with students. Juniors & Seniors, please come to school dressed appropriately (business casual) and come prepared with questions to ask the college reps.
