Riverside Studio is a specially designed teaching and recording studio in Washington, Tyne & Wear, providing professional vocal coaching, instrumental tuition and various recording and music services. Richard has over 20 years experience of teaching in schools, (GCSE and A-Level performances) colleges and theatre schools as well as privately. Past students have gone on to gain places at leading stage schools and universities as well as performing professionally. 

Lessons are generally one to one and focus on the students interests and style, tailoring exercises to improve their technique and overall performance.

If they wish, students can work towards LCM and ABRSM exams in Musical Theatre, Pop Vocals and Classical Singing. Several students have gained some of the highest marks in the region and performed at the LCM concert for excellence.

Richard specialises in musical theatre and popular styles and can provide sessions on audition preparation for musicals and theatre schools. These sessions can often involve other teachers and professional performers to ensure students are fully prepared.

The studio also has recording facilities for students who need backing tracks, showreels, demos or audition recordings.

Lessons are available on Guitar, Bass Guitar, Double Bass, Pop/Rock Piano and Music Theory. If they wish, students can work towards exams including the RGT guitar syllabus, LCM Theory and ABRSM exams.
