Below are the rivers that require a permit as discussed during the HCRR Permit Party. Each river includes some general information, the recommended date to apply, and a subject matter expert to answer any questions. Clicking the picture for each respective river will direct you to the American Whitewater website with additional details such as optimal flows, and general information about that river. You can apply for a permit by using the corresponding button for each river.
NOTE: Please use the link below to fill out which permits you applied for. If you are fortunate to win a permit, please consider referencing the spreadsheet in the link below to invite other HCRR members who applied.
High Use Season (Requires a permit): May 1, 2025 - September 30, 2025
Sand Wash to Swasey's Boat Ramp (83.9 miles)
Application Fee: $6
Lottery results announced February 14th
Unclaimed permits become available on March 15th at 8:00 am
Recommended date(s) to apply for are on or around Early May or June 11, 2025 (High Water)

Gates of Lodore to Split Mountain (44.9 miles)
Application Fee: $15
Lottery results announced February 12th
Unclaimed permits become available on March 6th at 8:00 am
Same application as Yampa permit, so your four chosen dates must be split between Gates of Lodore and the Yampa.
Recommended date(s) to apply for are on or around June 15, 2025 (High water) or Aug 6, 2025 (Low water)

Lees Ferry to Pierce Ferry (281 miles)
