Flute Faculty

Kristin Bacchiocchi-Stewart, D.M.A. is the director and founder of The Flute Academy, located in Bergen County, NJ. She is also the Applied Flute Instructor at Ramapo College and Newark Academy. She has served on the faculties of Union College, Peabody Conservatory, Frostburg State University, Ithaca College and Schenectady County Community College and served on the executive board of directors as the Co-President of the New Jersey Flute Society for four years. She is a member of the Lyra Ensemble (Flute Quartet), Classic V Winds (Woodwind Quintet), Chromium 2.0, principal flute of the NewJersey Wind Symphony, Adelphi Chamber Orchestra. She has given concerts, lectures, workshops and master classes throughout the United States and has also performed in several groups throughout Europe and Japan.

Flutist Reva Youngstein is an active performer throughout the New York area. She can be heard in broadway pits of Wicked, and the most recent Les Miserables. She is a flute substitute for the NJ Symphony, and performs regularly at Carnegie Hall with Musica Sacra and with the Orchestra of the Oratorio Society of New York. She has been on the music faculty of the Brearley School in Manhattan for twenty years, and for several years served as woodwind coach for the New Jersey Symphony’s Academy Orchestra. Reva also teaches privately in her home, and has students from age 8-68. 





Flutist Lisandra Hernandez is a versatile performer of music from classical to broadway to contemporary. Lisandra has performed at New York City venues, including the DiMenna Center and Merkin Concert hall, and in New Jersey at West Side Presbyterian Church and the Prudential Center. Lisandra performs in the Adelphi Chamber Orchestra, is Assistant Principal with the New Jersey Wind Symphony, and Principal Flute with the Ramsey Wind Symphony. A passionate educator, Lisandra is currently on the faculty of the Yamaha Music School in Fair Lawn and maintains an active private teaching studio. She is a proud teacher of elementary vocal and instrumental music in Fort Lee, NJ, where she was awarded her school Governor’s Teacher of the Year in 2015.
