The Arkansas LEARNS Act also created Literacy Tutoring Grants to help young students strengthen reading skills. Eligible K–3 students who are identified as at risk for reading difficulties may receive state-funded tutoring support through approved providers trained in the Science of Reading. Families can use these funds for in-person or online literacy tutoring and approved reading intervention programs.
The program was designed to provide early intervention and help students build strong reading foundations before falling further behind academically. Grant amounts have ranged from $500 to $1,500 per eligible student depending on funding and program year.
