The membership is also offered to RIT Rajaramnagar Alumni, Industrial and Corporate Houses, Engineering Educational Institutions, RIT retired faculty and officers, and other professionals on payment of fees as per details below:
Go to RIT home page. There is facility option under that library opac option. Enter a word or words from title or subject or author of a book you like to search. Press enter. It will list all books matching the words you input.
In Simple Search, you can search books by Author, Title (any word in the title, subtitle ) , Accession No. , Classification No., Series, ISBN No, Note/Abstract , Keyword, Supervisor, or Publisher. Use “Enter the String” box to input words etc from any of the fields mentioned above.
You can restrict your search to a particular media like Books, E-Books, Reports, etc.
In Advanced Search, you can search books by combining several fields like author, title, keyword, publishers etc (with operators LIKE, EQUAL TO, AND, OR) in the same query. This will give very specific / more relevant results.
The RIT Central Library offers computerized Catalogue Search Services though the Web OPAC (Online Public Access Catalogue). The bibliographic records consisting of more than 85,000 books, reports, Theses and Dissertations, Question papers are available in the Central Library, RIT Rajaramnagar can be searched through this interface.

WHAT IS "OPAC'?
OPAC stands for Online Public Access Catalogue. This is a database of all books, reference books, e-books, theses, reports, patents, standards etc. available in the library. It enables speedy searching of a particular book, books on a given subject, and/or a book by an author.
HOW DO I KNOW WHAT E-BOOKS ARE AVAILABLE / ACCESSIBLE TO RIT USERS?
Go to library home page. Click E-Journals/E-Books, again click E-Books from sub-menu. The system will list all the e-books available.
Go to the library, pick up the books you like to borrow, carry these books to the Circulation Counter. Show your ID Card. The library staff will assist you in getting these books issued to you.

HOW MANY BOOKS CAN I BORROW?
Faculty can borrow upto 15 books, UG and PG Students upto 5 books and Ph. Ds can borrow upto 5 books. More details can be seen at “Book Borrowing/Lending”.
IS THERE A FEES FOR LATE RETURN (OVER-DUE) OF BOOKS?
Yes, a member is required to pay late fee, as per the late fee structure, if he/she fails to return the books within a prescribed period of time. Members can see their overdue charges by logging into the OPAC account.
Library dues (late fees/cost of lost books etc) can be paid in online at the Library Cash Counter on the first floor of the Library.

Go to RITAGE, LOGIN your account. Click on faculty profile. Find tab of Book recommendation and requisition. Fill in all the details in respect of books recommended for purchase.
Inform concerned Head of the Department for approval.
Students must approach their faculty advisor / Course teacher, etc to recommend the books for them.
No. There is no limit on the number of books to be recommended. However, the purchase of books in a year will be restricted within the allotted budget for each department / centre.
References collection mainly contains encyclopedias, handbooks, dictionaries, directories, atlases, audio, video,CD with books, only CD and some rare collection books

Can the Library borrow documents from other libraries?
Yes, the Library can arrange books and copies of articles on inter-library loan from other libraries.
E-Resources are accessible only to RIT students, faculty and staff on the campus. However, others can request copies of articles from the E-Resources and the the library will download and supply them to the requesting users.

Two digital lab is available in working hours. In the modern information based era, the students and faculties require pinpointed, exhaustive and quick information. To fulfill this requirement, we have developed a well-equipped Digital Library with 62 computers to provide access to electronic resources such as e-journals, e-books, digitized question papers etc. The students and faculties can search, browse, download or print the article from e-journal or a portion from e-book, subject to copyright restrictions. The GATE CDs are also made available to the students for the preparation of GATE examination which is helpful to the students to face the GATE examination confidently and successfully
RIT central library has a good collection of 1,07,376 + volumes, 38,801 + titles as well as 7133 e-books, of all engineering disciplines and management department, includes more than 8491+ reference books, 416 Standards. It includes extracurricular and competitive examination books such as GATE, TOFEL, and MPSC etc. Its total investment of Rs. 4.87 crores.
The Central Library invested 5.67 lakhs for subscribing more than 175 print journals of engineering and management.
Library Automation:
The Library is fully automated using e-Granthalaya (3.0) software. E-granthalaya is a class Integrated library system with comprehensive functionality including the basic and advanced option. All circulation process is done by barcode. The bibliographic information about the collection is made available through web OPAC.
