Welcome to my page! My name is Risto Conte Keivabu !
Currently, I am a tenure-track assistant professor (chargé de cours) at UCLouvain in Belgium.
Research interests: climate change, sustainability, social inequalities, health, demography, social infrastructure.
Previously, I was a post-doc and Deputy Head of the Laboratory of Population Dynamics and Sustainable Well-Being at the Max Planck Institute of Demographic Research in Rostock (Germany), 2022-2026. I earned my PhD degree at the Department of Social and Political Sciences at the European University Institute in Florence (Italy) in 2022.
My research has appeared in peer-reviewed journals such as Demography, Population and Environment, Iscience, Population Studies, One Earth, Research in Social Stratification and Mobility, and European Journal of Population. Also, it appeared in several media outlets such as The Economist, Times, La Repubblica, Suddeutsche Zeitung, The Washington Post, on the Late Show with Steven Colbert (minute 2) and on ABC and MDRJump.

I am also an Editor at PLOSClimate, part of the Editorial Board of Population and Environment and invited editor of the Special Issue on Measuring Population Health in Times of Climate Change from Population Health Metrics.
