Joshua Jones

Hello! My name is Joshua Jones, and I am a current senior at Grayslake Central. I have been coaching for three years, one year as an assistant, and two years as a head coach. I played football, basketball, and volleyball, and I was the captain of the football team. Through sports, I have learned to persevere through challenges, build my work ethic, and lead by example. Toby Wamsley

Hello, I am currently a senior at Grayslake Central High School. I have been an assistant coach for 3 years and will be a head coach this spring. I have played both flag and tackle football, volleyball, bowling, and golf. Through my years of playing and coaching various sports, I have learned the importance of teamwork and perseverance and what it means to grow through hard work and commitment. At Rising Star Athletics, we believe in the power of sports in shaping the lives of the youth. Our philosophy is deeply rooted in three core principles that guide everything we do:

Sports aren't just about winning but about fostering important qualities like teamwork, resilience, and leadership. We want to support your children in growing not only in their ability but also in their character. We believe that to do this to the best of our ability, we need to build an inclusive environment, which is why, in every camp, we have equal playing time so that everyone has an opportunity regardless of ability. Ultimately, we know that for all of this to happen, positive coaching is a necessity, so our coaches strive to support every child in their own unique way by instilling positivity, encouragement, and mentorship. We emphasize effort over the outcome and create a safe space for athletes to take risks, learn from mistakes, and continuously improve.

Rising Star Sports Camp is NOT an official business. It is set up and run by Josh and Toby, who are looking to provide a fun experience for kids of all ages to enjoy sports.
