RiseUp is a free Android app for leaving a habit behind and building the streak that replaces it. You track the days, log the urges, journal how you feel, and watch the pattern emerge — all of it stored in an encrypted database on your own phone. No accounts. No server. Nothing for us to see.
Streak counter — your current run at a glance, with your start date and the next milestone ahead. No ads on this screen, ever.
Relapse log — record the date, and optionally the trigger, mood and a note. The streak restarts; the history stays.
Daily journal — mood, energy, trigger tags and free notes, turned into trend charts over time.
SOS and urge tools — breathing exercises and timed tools for the moment an urge hits, with duration, tool used, intensity and outcome logged afterwards.
Statistics and insights — urge frequency, recurring triggers and streak history, drawn entirely from your own entries.
Milestones and badges — achievements that unlock as your streak grows.
Reminders — optional daily check-in and milestone notifications.
App lock — PIN or fingerprint / face unlock, with sensitive screens hidden from screenshots and from the recent-apps preview.
Encrypted Google Drive backup — optional and off by default. Backups go to your own Drive, encrypted on your device with AES-256-GCM using a passphrase only you know.
Themes, sound packs and quote packs — cosmetic extras you can unlock free by watching an optional rewarded video.
RiseUp has no user accounts and no server of our own. Your streaks, journal entries, moods, triggers, notes and urge logs are held in a database encrypted at rest on your device, and are never transmitted to us. The app contains no third-party analytics SDK, so we do not track how you use it.
If you turn backup on, the file goes to your own Google Drive under your own account. RiseUp requests only the drive.file permission scope, which grants access to files the app itself created — it cannot see, read or delete anything else in your Drive. Set a backup passphrase and the file is encrypted before it ever leaves the device.
The one routine collection connected with the app is advertising data gathered by Google AdMob. Where the law requires it, RiseUp shows a consent prompt before any personalised ads are requested, and you can refuse and still use every feature. The full detail is in the Privacy Policy.
RiseUp is free and funded by advertising served through Google AdMob. Ads appear only on secondary screens — statistics, badges, settings and lists — and in rewarded videos you choose to watch. No ad is ever shown on the streak counter or on the SOS and urge screens, and no core feature is locked behind one.
RiseUp is a self-tracking and motivational tool. It is not a medical device, not a treatment and not therapy, and nothing in it is clinical advice.
