In-Person Coaching (Adelaide only)
In-person sessions are available at your home or a local public library. A call-out fee applies depending on the suburb (based in North Adelaide).

ABOUT THE COACH
Mathematics Coaching with Jan, an experienced and fully qualified male Teacher/Lecturer. Jan is an experienced and highly knowledgeable mathematics teacher with over 20 years of teaching and coaching experience. He has taught secondary mathematics at all levels (Years 7–12) and has also lectured first-year university mathematics, including Calculus and Algebra. For several years he worked as an Associate Lecturer in Pure Mathematics at the University of Sydney. Jan has successfully coached many students both in-person and online, helping them build confidence, strengthen foundational skills, and achieve significant improvements in their results.
MATHEMATICS COACHING
Coaching is tailored to the individual needs and learning style. Priority is given to addressing current maths topics and difficulties from school. We identifying gaps in foundational math skills early. A running profile is maintained to track the student’s fluency and progress in key basic math areas. We systematically strengthen core skills including number operations, directed numbers, fractions, decimals, percentages, ratios, and basic algebra. A mathematics coach is not just for students who are struggling — it’s about ongoing support, strategy, and improvement. Just like elite athletes have coaches, even strong students benefit greatly from expert guidance and personalised advice.
