Final Project
Don't worry, I'll still call you
Concept
The general idea behind my project is that of a rotary phone which plays a recording of a phone call. The phone call consists of a traveller's message to home.
Media
My project is almost entirely constructed out of cardstock and string. A dash of hot glue was required. In order to implement the audio, I integrated a CD player attached to a speaker within my project. Although, obviously, I did not construct these myself.
Themes
My project, mainly the audio component, addresses themes of identity, belonging, home, exploration and discovery. These ideas are portrayed through the form, content and creation of my project.
About the Artist
Despite the fictionality of the phone call, aspects of it may prove relevant to my future self. The stories I tell through my art will continue to reflect my life experiences. Whatever I plan to do, wherever I go, I will continue to create.
