about

Rio Linda FFA was chartered in 2010 by Dr. Crystal Grooms . It started off with only an Ag Bio and Ag Earth Science. Slowly but surely Dr. Grooms started to get more and more students involved in FFA. Having the first Chapter and Greenhand Officer Team run activities, inspiring others to join. In 2011, Rio Linda FFA got a barn, where students were able to follow the 3-ring model with SAE. Dr. Grooms was able to add Ag Academy classes, so students would be able to bond with a particular group of students throughout high school. In 2014, Ms. Sarah Warren joined the chapter, taking over the Ag Leadership class and became the new department head. In 2016 Mrs. Sara Carson joined the chapter, taking over the Ag Mechanics classes. Dr. Grooms retired from being an Ag Teacher to pursue being an administrator. In the fall of 2018, Ms. Samara Guerra joined Rio Linda FFA and took over Ag Chemistry and Ag Bio classes. In 2021, Mrs. Andrea Sawyer joined our team and took over the Floral Classes, which meets the fine arts A-G requirements.
