Dr. Rini Smita Thakur is a DST WISE Postdoctoral Fellow at the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Bhopal, working in deep learning and computer vision. She earned her Ph.D. in Electronics and Communication Engineering from the Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology Bhopal, specializing in image denoising techniques.
Her research focuses on deep learning, semi-supervised segmentation, source-free domain adaptation, and uncertainty modeling for vision and medical signal analysis. She has published in leading journals and presented at premier conferences such as the British Machine Vision Conference and the IEEE/CVF Winter Conference on Applications of Computer Vision.
Dr. Thakur is a recipient of the DST WISE Fellowship, UGC-NET JRF Fellowship, the IET Signal Processing Premium Award, and the Young Women Researcher Award (VIWA 2026). She is actively involved in teaching, mentoring, and professional service, and is a member of IEEE, ACM, and the Computer Vision Foundation.
