Setting up a new Iphone11 and I have the ring tone sound set to the loudest pitch. It will ring 1 time on the loud pitch then drops to a very faint ring. Sometimes it will not ring loud at all. Ringtone is faint on all rings.

This is normal behavior and means once the phone rings, you are looking at the phone. The phone is capable of knowing you are aware it is ringing and is called "Attention Aware" which is a setting you can turn off if you'd rather your phone continue to ring at the loudest volume.

Actually this question concerns my wife's iPhone XR. She uses the "Reflection" ring tone for calls, and she thinks the phone stops ringing after three rings. It seems to me that her phone rings three times at full volume; after the third ring, the sound muffles to where it seems that the ringing has stopped.

Is this behavior a feature of this particular ring tone, or is it a feature of the iPhone XR? I'm still using an iPhone 7 Plus and a different ring tone, but my incoming calls ring loudly and clearly many times. Is there a setting on her phone that can change this behavior? I've looked, but I've yet to find any way to change it.

This is part of the Attention Aware Feature of the iPhones with FaceID. When the iPhone has your attention while you are looking at the screen (typing, reading websites or working with an app), then it automatically reduces the sound because it knows you are looking right at it so no need to issue loud notifications. You may be picking up the iPhone or looking at it right at or after the third ring.

Well. My chime is still too soft. I missed the UPS guy yesterday even though we were IN THE SAME ROOM as where my chime is. It is still working, I heard it chirp later. I had headphones on and my wife had her earpods in. But a full blown chime on full force should have easily penetrated those. Earpods are open.

I don't know when this issue started because I usually have it on vibrate/silent, but last night I put my phone on normal mode with the ringer set to 100% and yet when someone called me at 3am because they were in a car accident I couldn't hear it. They called me 10 times but my phone barely made a whisper. I can hear the ringtone but it sounds like its at 5% not 100%. It doesn't matter if I set it to 90 or 100, but the ringtone is very quiet.

@freeman93: I'm sorry to hear that you have encountered this issue. Please try heading to Settings > Sounds and vibration > Volume, and make sure that the Ringtone slider is at a suitable level. Now, head to the Phone app > Tap the 3 dots in the top right > Settings > Call alert and ringtone > Vibrate while ringing > On. The vibration against a flat surface can be quite loud, and can help to alert you to any incoming calls if you're asleep.

@Roberta830 I have never heard of the AirBnB ringtone. Is this the sound that your phone emits when you receive an SMS message? If you have a smart phone, you should be able to download a new ringtone or select a different one and set the volume.

* Some people turned this Volume button adjustment feature off long ago, particularly if they have kids that like to fidget with their iPhone. But many new iPhone models ship with this feature disabled by default. Whether you want to adjust the ringtone volume by the volume buttons is a matter of personal preference and your individual usage.

That should cover all the bases, and your iPhone X should now ring loud for incoming calls as usual just like other iPhones do. No more automatically quieting down after the first ring, as long a you have the facial attention awareness feature off this behavior will stop.

If Attention Awareness feature must be turned off in order for the ringer to function the way it should, then it should be removed from all models of iPhone, including the latest iPhone 13, Pro and Max. Period!

I just turned the awareness off and the phone rings great now. Happy about that but now no Face ID or Passcode coming up so do we sacrifice this security authentication to get the phone to ring properly.

I recall what I did to correct it, and get it to ring again, was to hold the physical volume UP button in the side of the iPhone WHILE it was ringing to the Jabber client. It seems that that volume is adjusted only in that event.

as an fyi when i press the volume up or down button while the jabber ringtone rings it goes completely silent again. maybe that is why it did not work when i tried your suggestion of presing up button while it was ringing the jabber client but it worked great in the settings (where you select normal or loud ringtone)

Each phone has a default volume setting for its ringing and sound. It can be soft, loud, high-pitched, or low-pitched. For someone with high-frequency hearing loss (which is most common), a soft, high-pitched ringtone may be virtually impossible to hear, especially without hearing aids. While most landline phones and cell phones allow you to adjust the volume, even the maximum level may not be loud enough to serve someone with hearing loss.

Landlines typically have a standard ringtone made up of two or three frequencies that, in North America, have the pattern of two seconds of ringing followed by a four-second pause. A cell phone has more ringtone options, with different tunes and rhythms, that can be set based on your preference.

The ideal ringtone for you will depend on the configuration and your degree of hearing loss. If you have a high-frequency hearing loss, a low-pitched ringtone may be preferable. Alternatively, very loud ringtones may be an option.

As speaking on the phone is one of the biggest barriers for a person with hearing impairment, technology in this area is constantly evolving. The simplest is to increase the volume of your calls or listen over the loudspeaker. However, this can distort the sound and make it even less comprehensible.

In the last five years iPhones, and more recently Android devices, have become hearing aid compatible. Using 2.4GHz and Bluetooth technology, certain hearing aids can stream sound directly from the cell phone, making phone calls clearer and easier to understand than ever before. Other hearing aids come with a wearable streamer appliance that connects the phone and hearing aids for improved sound quality.

In the United States, people with hearing loss can receive a free captioned landline via the Americans with Disabilities Act. You will just need your hearing health professional or doctor to sign a certificate confirming your hearing loss. Companies that offer these phones include CapTel, CaptionCall, ClearCaptions, and InnoCaption. The phones are telecoil-compatible, user-friendly, and come with extra-large screens and adjustable font sizes to read the conversation. Some even have the option to adjust the sound of the phone based on your audiogram so the sound is optimized for you at the same time as the captions.

Have you taken a look at Gestures? Sometimes those can be set for an increasing ring volume, decreased volume when flipped up or picked up, flip to silence, silence when placed to ear, and other volume changing effects.

5. Scroll through the available options to find the ringtone you prefer. Select "Play" to hear a sample of the selected ring.

Select "Set" to set the highlighted option as your ring tone.

It is important to note that certain behaviors for your phone such as forwarding an unanswered call to voicemail are based on the ring time and not the number of rings.

If your line is configured to forward calls after 10 seconds, a shorter ring like "Chirp1" may ring 5 or 6 times while a longer ringtone like "Reflections" may only ring once.

This ring time cannot be set on the phone itself and will need to be configured through the Admin Portal.

GS Upgrade Tool is a Windows-based firmware upgrade utility to help users to flash firmware for the security products such as GDS3710 and Grandstream IP Camera products in LAN environment. Using this tool to upgrade can prevent bricking the device during firmware upgrade process due to Internet interruption or power outage, as well as help users to upgrade firmware at installation sites where Internet access is restricted.

With the station idle and the handset in the cradle, depress the following keys in order: hold, transfer, *, #. You will be placed in a menu mode. Press 3 (Audio & Visual), press 1 (Audio), then press 7 (Ring Settings) which brings you to 1 for external ring tones (from off campus), and 2 for internal ring tones (from on-net). Either selection gives you 15 different tones from which to choose.

When you select the ring tone option 1 or 2 you will be presented with pattern options. To the left of the pattern is number 0 through 14. You can use the up and down selections which are the triangular soft keys under the display to see all the different pattern numbers.

Depressing the number that is displayed to the left of the pattern selects that particular ring tone. When you choose a pattern number it can only be done once, if you wish to check another tone depress the cancel soft key and the 1 or 2 to go back into the external or internal menu. 17dc91bb1f
