I left the alarm vibrating and opened the phone's volume controls; the alarm volume was on (half way on the bar) and ringtone was off. I slid the ringtone volume up and there it was, my selected alarm song was playing.

I have the same question as Cory and sorry, that reply doesn't anwer the question. Let me expand on it. I can set my alarms to use a any song on my phone as my alarm tone with out creating a ringtone from the song. If the iPhone is able to do that with the sound the alarm makes, why can't the phone use any song as a ringtone for phone calls and texts without going through some long process with an app and/or audio editing software or purchasing them already made?

You can set a ringtone as an alarm by going to Clock > Alarm > Edit > choose the alarm you want to edit > Sound. From here, scroll down to find the normal iOS ringtones which you can now select for your alarm. Hope this answered your question!

You can use any song in your iTunes library as a ring tone, but you have to edit it first. You need to crop it to 30s segment or shorter and change the file type. A simple web search will turn up numerous sites with step by step instructions about how to edit any song into a ringtone segment in either iTunes or GarageBand.

Being able to choose a song as your alarm tone is a great feature. You mentioned having just set up your iPhone 13. Are the songs that you're using for the alarm downloaded to the iPhone? If not, this could be why it's not working as expected. To check, open the Music app and tap Library > Songs, then locate the song you're wanting to use as the tone. Once located, tap the cloud icon to download or tap the (...), followed by Download when it appears.

If you continue to have issues with the alarm after downloading the song or the song is already download, try deleting and recreating the alarm to see if the issue persists. To delete an alarm, swipe from right to left across the alarm, followed by Delete. Once deleted, create a new alarm by tapping the (+) sign towards the top-right. You can also find these steps in the article below.

The song plays fine in the app, it just does not work with the alarm, in fact any song I chose does not play, the alarm just vibrates, but if I chose a ringtone it works, it just won't work with songs. I have Apple Music subscription as well.

Does the song play as expected from your Music app? If so, have you also tried deleting the song and adding it back to test? If not, test and re-add to the alarm. If needed, the steps for adding an alarm can be found here: How to set and manage alarms on your iPhone

I got a new phone and I had to purchase songs that I had only purchased on the new phone. When I did that the songs worked on the alarm. These songs must be songs I have never purchased in the past. Yes that is still a great glitch, but at least I have some alarm songs now. I have told Apple about this.

I have an iPhone 13 Pro also. I had to purchase songs on iTunes that I had never purchased before on any previous iPhones that I have owned. Than I chose just those songs to use for the alarm, and it worked immediately. I have spoken to Apple Customer Service and they knew nothing about the problem, and they had no solution for it. I am going to call them today to tell the solution I have found, and to suggest to Apple that they do a software update, so we can use all the songs Apple provides both purchased and not purchased.

Even though when I set an alarm with a song that is on my phone (or, at least, worked with my 2020 phone), and the alarm app will play a preview of that song when I set it, all I get when the alarm goes off is the default sound (annoying!) and vibration.

I do have Apple Music right now (giving that a second chance bc it was awful the first go), but if it is the source of the problem, I am going to quit that for good. I'd rather have my songs, ripped from my CDs (remember: 2012 MacBook, still going strong!) and purchased from my sources, than not be able to my play music for alarms.

I press a button and I want to play a ringtone/alarm sound. I could not find an easy, straightforward sample. Yes, I already looked at Alarm clock source code... but it is not straightforward and I cannot compile it.

Your example is basically what I'm using. It never works on the emulator, however, because the emulator doesn't have any ringtones by default, and content://settings/system/ringtone doesn't resolve to anything playable. It works fine on my actual phone.

Returns the Uri for the default ringtone of a particular type. Rather than returning the actual ringtone's sound Uri, this will return the symbolic Uri which will resolved to the actual sound when played.

I want to use my new nest mini as an alarm in the morning. I have a really brutal alarm clock at the moment so I would like an equally brutal alarm ring - but the one the nest mini seems to use is really gentle and frankly a bit pants. I could easily sleep through that!

Sorry for the late reply. I wanted to check in and see if you are still in need of any help changing the alarm sound on your device? Please let me know if the article sent above helped, or if you are still having issues. I would be happy to take a closer look.

 Best regards,

 Jake

This is my 2nd Cingular Flip. I liked it so much I bought one for my elderly aunt but I gave her mine and I took the new one since I had already customized mine with louder ringtones, etc. But now I can't for the life of me recall how I set the alarm ringtone. I've read the user manual and searched tutorials online to no avail. I know it can be done because I did it before. But now I can't remember how! Anybody know?

To change your actual ringtone, along with ringtone volume and type, we can do this from your Settings. You want to select Menu > Settings > User Profiles > General.

Hello, it s definitely impossible to use the alarm fonction as my only option is to set vibration on or off... the icon of the bell is desperately crossed and I can't find the way to activate it... Any idea?

The Approach S70 does not have an audible alert tone other than the vibration function for alarm sounds on the watch. From the menu Clocks > Alarms > The switch next to the alarm will show green set ON or gray if OFF.

Thank you very much for having answered me.

As I am French, I need to be sure I understood the English sentence well: this watch has an alarm fonction that definitely CANNOT ring to wake you up. Am I right?

The ringtones on this website are in .mp3 format and is compatible with almost all mobile phones. Download ringtones and use them on Nokia Mobile phones, Samsung, Sony Ericsson phones, LG mobiles, Motorola phones etc...

Note: as Triratna found out here: after setting another ringtone outside of the app (for example in the default ringtone app), the extension does not refresh and still will display the previously set ringtone. As workaround, restart your app to get the correct ringtone

When I tap on Change I'm redirected to Sounds & notification section of Settings, where I can only see Phone ringtone and Default notification ringtone. Both set (not silent). As for alarm I can only see alarm volume (not ringtone) which is also around half (50%) and thus not silent as well.

I've been out of "Android world" for around two years or so. Last version I've used was 4.3.5, but I can hardly recall something like default alarm ringtone. If I'm not mistaken, there was default tone for notifications and default ringtone, but alarm tone was always set per each alarm separately.

Go through all of your alarms, including inactive ones, and see if you have "Default Ringtone (Unknown)" set for any. If so, change the ringtone to your custom one or a preset, or delete the alarm entirely.

When making any new alarms, it should default to the last one you used... but just make sure to avoid "Default Alarm Sound." (For some reason it calls it the Default Alarm Sound in the drop down menu, but the Default Ringtone after it is selected).

Assuming Moto is using a near-AOSP clock app... When you have an alarm in the list (enabled or not), you should be able to set its ringtone individually. Setting one will make alarms created in the future use that ringtone by default.

The process of turning a TikTok sound into a ringtone or alarm on Android is pretty straightforward no matter which brand of phone you're using. While all Android devices are a bit different, this tutorial will show you the basics for downloading and using TikTok audio on your phone.

The next part will vary from device to device, but you should see an option somewhere in the file screen or audio player to set the file as a ringtone. Tap on this to set the TikTok audio as your ringtone.

To use the sound as your alarm, open your alarm app and head to your alarm sound settings. From here, you should be able to access any of the audio files on your phone to set them as your alarm sound. ff782bc1db
