RingHere ("the app") is an alarm clock that rings only while you are at a place you choose. This policy explains what the app collects, what it does not, and who else receives data when you use it.
The app is developed by RingHere ("we", "us"). You can contact us at asynctechnology.nz@gmail.com with any question about this policy or your data.
Your alarms — including the locations you pick for them — are stored only on your device. We do not run a server, we have no account system, and we never receive your alarms or your location. Two Google services the app is built on do receive some data, described below.
RingHere needs your device's location to work at all. An alarm has a place attached to it, and at the alarm's time the app checks whether you are still inside that place's radius. If you are, it rings. If you are not, it stays silent. While an alarm is ringing, the app keeps watching your location so it can stop automatically once you leave.
The app requests these location permissions:
Approximate and precise location — to compare your position against an alarm's location, and to centre the map on you when you are choosing a place.
Location in the background — because the check has to run at the alarm's time whether or not the app is open, and typically while your phone is locked.
Your location is never transmitted to us and never leaves your device, except as described in "Google services" below. Location is read, compared against your alarm, and discarded. The coordinates you pick for an alarm are saved in a database on the device itself and are removed when you delete the alarm or uninstall the app.
The app stores your alarms locally: the label, the chosen coordinates and radius, the time, the repeat days, and whether the alarm is on. This data stays in the app's private storage. It is included in Android's own backup if you have that turned on in your system settings, in which case it is handled by Google under your Google account.
Google Maps. The place picker uses the Google Maps SDK. When you open the map, Google receives the data needed to serve it, which can include your location and device information. This is governed by the Google Privacy Policy.
Firebase Analytics. The app uses Google's Firebase Analytics to understand how the app is used — for example, which screens are opened and whether alarms are being created. Firebase collects app usage events along with device and app identifiers, device model, operating system version, and a coarse region derived from your IP address. It does not receive your alarm locations or the precise coordinates you pick. Firebase's handling of this data is governed by the Google Privacy Policy and the Firebase Privacy and Security documentation.
We do not sell your data.
We do not share your data with advertisers or use it for advertising.
We do not have accounts, logins, or user profiles.
We do not collect your contacts, photos, messages, files, or calendar.
We do not track you across other apps or websites.
RingHere is a paid app. Your purchase is handled entirely by Google Play. We never see your payment card, billing address, or any other payment detail — Google processes the transaction and tells us only anonymised sales totals.
RingHere is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
Location. You can revoke location permission at any time in Android's app settings. The app will keep running, but location-based alarms cannot ring correctly without it.
Deleting your data. Uninstalling the app removes every alarm and all stored data from your device. Because we hold nothing on a server, there is nothing for us to delete on our side.
Analytics. If you would like your Firebase Analytics data deleted, email us at asynctechnology.nz@gmail.com and we will request its deletion.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights under laws such as the GDPR or the CCPA to access, correct, or delete personal data held about you. Contact us at the address above and we will respond.
If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top of this page and, where the change is significant, note it in the app's release notes.
