I just installed ring at my second home in another state and when someone rings the door bell at one location it chimes at both. I have check the app and all the settings are correct. Not sure how to fix this

Hi there, @Devin! This should definitely not happen, and is not a feature of the Doorbell Pro. As for settings, there is a in home chime type setting found in the Device Settings for your Doorbell Pro, in the Ring app. Ensuring this option is set to digital chime kit, as you mentioned having, it should work as intended. A Live View triggered from the Ring app should certainly not result in a chime ringing. I recommend checking wiring and that the Pro Power Kit is installed with your chime kit.

I am experiencing the exact same behavior with my ring wired doorbell pro. Seems like a bug to me. Whenever I talk live the doorbell starts ringing.

It is wired the same as my original wired pro and it never had this issue.

The main differences are that Chime Pro extends Wi-Fi coverage for Ring devices, has both dual-band 2.4Ghz & 5GHz Wi-Fi connectivity (vs 2.4GHz only), a built-in nightlight, and guided feedback during the setup process to help find the best location for your Chime Pro.

This is the larger of our chimes, suited to larger homes and spaces where sound has to carry far, as well as anywhere you are looking for a bolder element. Whether you are replacing an old chime or installing a new doorbell system, Ring chimes require a simple hardwired installation. Spore's RING chimes are compatible with many video doorbells, including Nest and Ring systems (see our blog post for details). See the RING chime for our smaller version.

The Blink Video Doorbell is compatible with most home chimes. Once you wire the doorbell, pushing the button on the doorbell will make your chime ring. Use this article for further troubleshooting if your chime does not ring after installation.

Wiring for external doorbell buttons often has significant corrosion that can prevent enough current from being available. Be sure to connect only bare wires to the doorbell terminal posts, and remove corrosion if present.

In the Blink app you can change how the doorbell sends signal to the chime. In a mechanical chime, you control how much force the strikers use. In a digital chime, you control how long the signal is sent, giving the file enough time to play. Learn more about how to change your chime volume.

Once your Mini and Video Doorbell are on the same system, you can control the chime volume by selecting the More  button located at the bottom-right corner of the doorbell's thumbnail to access Device Settings. Then tap Audio Settings to adjust volume levels.

Each Mini camera used as a chime must be on the same system as the doorbell. If you open the Doorbell and Chime Settings and do not see a Mini camera that you have added, the Mini may be in a different system. If you have multiple systems, they will be separated by gray tabs at the top of the home screen. If your Mini camera displays on the Blink app home screen, the system name is located in gray tab above it.

If re-enabling doorbell press notifications does not resolve this issue, try removing and re-discovering your Blink devices from the Alexa app. Learn how to remove and re-discover your Blink devices from the Alexa app.

In North America, most electrical circuits supply 120 volts. In the UK, and most of Europe, power circuits supply 240 volts. Both of these power options are too powerful for a doorbell, so a transformer is added to decrease the voltage.

If a hard-wiring setup is not working right, and you have confirmed that the wiring is connected securely, then the problem might be too much resistance. When an electrical circuit experiences resistance, the amount of power available is lower because the current cannot flow as freely. In general, a shorter, thicker wire can transmit a greater amount of current.

A thinner and longer wire has more Resistance and can carry less current. Corrosion also slows current flow. A typical doorbell system uses thin, long, wires that are often exposed to the weather. It is common for corrosion to build up over time, and for the wires to become weakened.

Yes, ST is Smartthings. Since this is a Smartthings forum, I assumed you had a hub. To use your Sonos directly from Alexa create a routine as follows.

When Ring motion or press,

Add action - Use custom action and just type in a command to Alexa. "Alexa play doorbell on Sonos speaker. " It has to be the name you gave your speaker in Alexa when you added the device.

Basically the same command you would say to Alexa to play whatever you like on your speakers.

I think I have the chime connector wired correctly, but all the installation links I can find say to follow the instructions in the app, and the app just tells me to remove the doorbell and start over - so I must be missing something there.

One other think to check is in the google home app in the setting for the nest doorbell you will see the RING INDOOR CHIME option and that should be ON. But under that is another slider that says Length of Ring. Trying setting it to 1 second (if it isn't already).

The only other thing I can think of in further trouble shooting is this: In a traditional doorbell, the chime-button on your house is just simple open/close switch. If you disconnect the nest doorbell and reconnect the old doorbell switch does the chime inside your house still work?

I have an echo dot 1st gen and a Sonos roam, both are set up in the Eufy security alexa skill to notify when the doorbell is pushed. However neither the dot or Roam actually work with notifications from Eufy doorbell. The instructions listed do not work. I have disabled and re-enabled the skill yet still no luck. Despite being advertised to work with these devices, clearly there are issues.

Just installed a Kami doorbell. It is hardwired and connected to a mechanical chime exactly as directed. When you ring the doorbell, it rings 7 times, and again once more randomly about 3-5 minutes later every time you press the ring button. If you access the camera on the app, the chime rings nonstop the entire time you are on it and randomly once more 3-5 minutes later. The transformer is giving off 19 volts, so not the issue either. I have edifies that the firmware is updated and tested the doorbell per troubleshooting emails, and the issue has not been resolved. Any advice?

Thanks for your patience @TRCARTER Working with our team here to find out more and do some testing. A few questions/suggestions.

Are you using the chime connector?

Are you using Android or iOS?

Have you contacted our support team yet? Can you send me your ticket number or email address?

Can you send a picture of your doorbell connected to the chime?

One suggestion, disconnect the mechanical chime, see if this resolves the issue.

Hey @TRCARTER Just checking in, how are things going? were you able to get your doorbell chime resolved? let me know how things going when you have a moment, if not resolved, send back the requested info and we will keep digging.

I am having issues connecting my new doorbell camera to a working chime. Does the connector need to be connected to a chime that is also connected via wires to the camera? Or can it be used with a camera

Doorbell that is run from battery? Currently we have no wire power running to the camera as the builders cut the old wire. Can the connector act as a wireless receiver when attached to a powered up chime?

From what I can tell as a user of this device, you cannot ring the chime with motion detected on the Wyze Video Doorbell pro.

You could create a rule that turns on a Wyze V3 or Pan Cam V2 siren or Turn on a Wyze Bulb or Color Bulb if you have additional devices.

The festive doorbell chimes are only available for a limited period. Once the season is over, they fly off like witches in the night, and your doorbell reverts back to its regular chime until the next holiday comes around.

At first, I also was getting multiple rings, but then determined that it was one ring when the person approached and a second ring when that person physically rang the bell. Often these rings happened in such quick succession on my panel that it sounded like multiple rings for a single event.

Nothing has changed. In settings, all options are checked, and Mechanical Chime selected. Button push = mechanical chime rings and 5 chimes sound on the panel (these chimes kinda overlap, as da-ding-dong-donga-ding-ding-donga-ding-dong, and not 5 consecutive, definitive chimes, if that matters).

I purchased 2 video doorbells to connect with my existing Nutone intercom chime. I disconnected power, connected both chimes one for front door and one for side, when I turned the power back on the chime is on continuously. I tried attaching only one but still the same result. Suggestion

So I did get both video doorbells installed and running but here are the caveats; (1) I had to get an electrician friend of mine to get the correct configuration to power them and I have zero idea how he did it however (2) he could not make it work with the digital chime in my intercom. As of now when the bell is rung it will send a ring to my phone but I have no other chime. I thought the easy fix would be Arlo chimes but apparently they only work with Arlo audio doorbell and NOT video doorbell at this time which really sucks big time... thanks Arlo. My next step is to install a mechanical chime that will connect to the video doorbells... sheeeesh! 006ab0faaa
