RIKEN-KI bioinformatics exchange program 2022 in Stockholm

SciLifeLab is a Swedish national research center located at Karolinska Institutet (KI), which focuses on state-of-the-art high-throughput molecular technologies and bioinformatics. RIKEN and SciLifeLab/KI have a long-standing collaborative relationship since 2001 and together achieved remarkable research outcomes, e.g. FANTOM (Functional Annotation Of Mammalian Genome) 5 Project. Promoting the scientific exchange of young talents between Japan and Sweden is one the major goals of the RIKEN and SciLifeLab/KI collaborative effort. To achieve this, we are organizing a short-term exchange program to support young researchers in Japan to experience the research life at laboratories of SciLifeLab/KI in Stockholm. This program focuses on bioinformatics (e.g. transcriptomics, epigenomics, single-cell genomics etc) and requires the participants to bring their own research project and datasets for discussion with the researchers in their host laboratories SciLifeLab/KI. We would identify a host laboratory for each applicant based on the contexts of their research project. Presentations will be organized at the beginning and the end of the program for introducing their scientific questions and summarizing their results respectively. The exchange program will be concluded with the RIKEN-KI-SciLifeLab Symposium 2022.
