A riichi mahjong tournament is a competitive event based on Riichi Mahjong, the Japanese version of mahjong. In this format, players sit at tables of four and play multiple rounds, trying to score the most points through winning hands and strategic play.

Our club members will be participating in the North Texas Riichi Open, taking place in McKinney, Texas on 8/22-8/23, 2026. This ARA-certified event brings together players from across the region, and we’re excited to have our members represent the club, compete, and connect with the wider riichi mahjong community.
