Q: What is choir?

A: Choir is a year-long performing arts class that uses the human voice to make music through group singing.


Q: How many choirs does Righetti have?

A: We have 3 choirs at Righetti: Concert Choir, Varsity Choir, and Madrigals


Q: What are the differences between each choir?

A: Each choir is a different level. Concert Choir is beginning, Varsity Choir is Intermediate and Madrigals is advanced.  

     Incoming Freshmen are required to take Concert Choir their first semester, after that they are welcome to audition for  

     Varsity Choir or Madrigals. 


Q: How do I join choir?

A: Contact Mr. Ringer and let him know you are interested and tell your counselor. For Concert Choir there is no audition  

     needed - just sign up! For Varsity Choir and Madrigals it is based on teacher recommendation or an audition.


Q: Do I have to audition?

A: For Concert Choir, no audition is needed, just sign up through your counselor. For Varsity Choir and Madrigals either a 

     teacher recommendation or audition is needed. Contact Mr. Ringer for more details.


Q: When are auditions held?

A: Auditions are held each year in March for the coming school year.  


Q: If I play sports or do other activities outside of school, can I still be in choir?

A: Yes! Many athletes or students with busy schedules have been in choir before. We work with your schedule.


Q: I don’t know how to read music, can I still join?

A: Yes! We will teach you, not only how to read music but how to use your singing voice in a healthy way.


Q: Do we have concerts or performances?

A: Yes, we have multiple concerts throughout the year. Choir is a performing arts class. Our concerts are after school in 

     the evenings a couple times per year. 


Q: I’ve never tried singing before, can I join?

A: Yes! Whether you have never sang before or you have been singing for years, there is a place for EVERYONE!


Q: Is choir A-G approved?

A: Yes! The choirs that are A-G approved are Concert Choir and Varsity Choir.
