E-mails have been sent out, and our artists are currently hard at work to create their designs!
New participants have been picked randomly from the pool of applications, in accordance with the champions they want. An artist may choose to check a box agreeing to fill in for champions that might be left over. In this case, they may have been given a champion that is not in their picks.
Applications have closed, and characters have been distributed to those who have applied to be participants.
If you want to draw a character who isn't a League of Legends champion (such as a Little Legend, or LoR character) you might have a chance. This is extra content, though, so there is no guarantee that these will be included. Send us an e-mail if you have questions about specific characters.
Valorant characters or characters outside of Riot Games IP will not be included in the Rift Gala.
Applications for writers have closed, and they will be included in the event for additional content besides the art.
Cosplay will not be included in the event, explained in this post.
Individually, no. It is important that each character has one definitive gala design. Otherwise, it would become inevitable that the gala showcases mostly art of a select group of 'popular' champions. Making sure that the Rift Gala showcases all types of different champions equally is a core part of our goal.
However, if you wish, you may absolutely bring a friend on board and work on a single design together.
No, characters outside Runeterra will not be making an appearance on the Rift Gala.
Characters included in the event will be all characters from League, but Legends of Runeterra, Wild Rift, Teamfight Tactics and Arcane could be included aswell.
In accordance with Riot's Legal Jibber Jabber, Rift Gala will remain a completely non-commercial event.
There is a possibility the Rift Gala will be releasing digital print-your-own (or similar) 'merch' for non-commercial use.
The Rift Gala is a twitter exclusive event, available here. While reposts of the Gala onto different platforms are inevitable, we urge you not to do so (also according to the gala etiquette).
Accounts claiming to represent the Rift Gala elsewhere are not affiliated with the team.
Yes, and be sure to tag us in your art! We adore seeing fan art of Rift Gala designs, and we will gladly retweet your works once the main event has ended.
