RIFF 170 at the Art Vs Transit show at the Bronx museum 2019.
RIFF 170 is one of the last movers and shakers of style from the very early 70's. He continues to learn and also help others understand the history of writing culture going back to the 1960's and 1970's.
Understanding this cultures roots and foundations will help stop the spread of misinformation. The term "Graffiti" was not used in the very early years of this culture. RIFF 170 hopes to educate those to not use this term as it was known as writing back in the 70's.
RIFF 170 has branched out into doing a podcast called Not the G word podcast. This podcast gives the chance for RIFF 170 to explain the culture and history in great detail. This also gives fans a chance to ask RIFF 170 questions and learn more about topics they want to learn about.
Last year in 2020 RIFF 170 came back and shocked others by painting again. He painted two walls one in Philly and the other in NYC. For someone who hasn't painted much since 1976 it looked like he had never stopped. It was great to see the master of style getting back at what he does best. It won't be the last of us seeing RIFF 170 on the walls of NYC and hopefully around the world.
