Ridge Learning Academy provides accessible learning resources to those stuck in quarantine. We strive to teach students essential skills to succeed in various high school level courses, specifically Algebra I/II, Chemistry, and Physics. Students will receive advice, lessons, and unique resources from current high school students. We seek to offer practice and constant reinforcement that will build necessary good habits in high school STEM courses. In each course, instructors will also offer general high school advice that enables students to succeed outside the classroom. Classes start July 20th and end on August 22nd. All money earned will be donated to the Morristown Medical Center, part of the Atlantic Health System, to help defeat the COVID-19 pandemic. Please register for classes here. This is a fast-paced course that goes through all of the material in a high school chemistry course: measurements, a detailed look at atoms, bond-forming, periodic table trends, chemical reactions, and more. Students will learn how to critically think and perform calculations applied to chemistry. Before entering the course, students should have a basic understanding of algebra. Recommended grades 7 and beyond.
Instructors: Eric Zhao and Allen Zhao
This is a fast-paced course that will go through most of the material covered in a standard high school AP Physics I class. We will be covering mechanics, but not electricity, which the 4th marking period of AP Physics I generally covers. As a prerequisite to this class, knowledge of basic trigonometric and algebraic knowledge is expected. Generally recommended for grades 8-10.
Instructors: Andrew Zhang and Darren Jia
