Coach Katie has been on the Ridge coaching staff since 2003 and the head coach since 2007. In that time Coach Katie has worked alongside AMAZING student-athletes that have helped her amass a 225-97-37 coaching record.
Coach Katie also received the NJSIAA Sport Award (2017) and was inducted into the NJSCA Hall of Fame in 2018. She was inducted into her high school Hall of Fame as a recipient of 12 Varsity Letters (soccer, basketball and lacrosse).
She has been the recipient of several coaching awards including being named the NJ.com coach of the year (2020), MSG Varsity Coach the Year (2015), the Courier News Coach of Year (2015), NJGSCA North 2 Coach of the Year (2015, 2012) and the Skyland Conference Coach of the Year (2014).
Coach Katie loves the sport and enjoys watching players work together for the common goal. Every year, Coach Katie has the joy of working with some of the finest soccer players in New Jersey with the desire to compete and the resiliency to keep fighting even when things get tough.
Katie Donahue graduated from Boston College where she was a member and starter of the Varsity Soccer team for four years and captain her senior year. She won the Leadership Award, was a member of the All Academic team, named a Big East Scholar Athlete, earned the Aeropostale Big East Scholar-Athlete and received Big East Academic All Star Honors and selected as the Thomas McElroy Award recipient. Katie earned a dual major in Education and Communications and graduated with Cum Laude honors.
Katie’s Club Soccer team, World Class Soccer - Windsor, CT- won the U.S. Youth Soccer Region 1 Championship three times and a National Championship in 2000, with Katie notching the winning goal in overtime on a diving header.
Katie is married with three children and has been employed as a special education teacher in Bernards Township since 2003. She currently teaches Algebra 1 and 2 at Ridge School.
