An all inclusive guided bikepacking multi-day trip for experienced riders wanting to ride a more committing and demanding route.
The Cairngorm Loop trip is significantly more remote and exposed than the other trips offered. It’s perfect for riders with prior experience of multi day riding and camping, not necessarily at the same time. The approximate distance and elevation is 120 miles and 13 000 ft over four days.
The Cairngorm Loop traverses around some of the most breathtaking and spectacular terrain in The Cairngorm National Park. The route follows forest tracks, singletrack, moorland paths, crosses many rivers and everything in between to challenge even the most seasoned of riders.
We start and finish here in Grantown on Spey. Heading through the iconic Eag Mhor to Tomintoul and onwards to Braemar via Cullardoch, or Glen Gairn. The Geldie Burn has to be crossed before a committing descent of Glen Tilt back to some civilisation for a while! We turn northwards again to ride through The Gaick Pass with more possible river crossings before returning to Glenmore Forest and finally Grantown on Spey.
Accommodation is usually a blend of wild camping and commercial accommodation such as bunkhouses, hostels or B & Bs in locations described above, or of course wherever conditions, progress and desire suggest as the best option.
Because of the many different aspects to this trip these are priced on a trip by trip basis. Please reach out to Jim if you are interested.
