Ricky Kennedy - Bio

Ricky Kennedy is a writer/director from East Texas. He earned an associates degree in Liberal Arts from Trinity Valley Community College in May of 2007. He has earned both a Bachelors of Fine Art and a Masters of Fine Art from Stephen F. Austin State University.

Kennedy writes, directs and edits his motion pictures. He also does post-production work including sound mixing, color correction and visual effects. He also designs posters and artwork used to promote his films.

Kennedy has worked on numerous other films in various crew positions including assistant director, camera operator, sound mixer, boom operator, editor and occasional actor.

His thesis film, The History of Time Travel screened at the Austin Film Festival in Austin, TX, the Roswell International Sci-Fi Film Festival in Roswell, NM, the Super Geek Film Festival in Miami, FL, The Boston Sci-Fi Film Festival, in Boston, MA, The Boomtown Film Festival in Beaumont, TX, Academia Film Olomouc in the Czech Republic, and the International Horror and Sci-Fi Film Festival in Phoenix, AZ. The film is currently streaming on Amazon Prime.

His second feature film, A Year From Now, was made in association with the film program at Stephen F. Austin State University and was released via Amazon Prime on November 19th, 2021.
