What is a Mason? 

A man who believes in God, cares for the wellbeing of humankind, is of just, upright, and moral character, and is known to be honest and trustworthy. A man who cares about brotherhood. He is a man who cares for the community he resides in and raises his family. A man who strives to become a better version of himself every single day. A man who wishes to LEAVE THE WORLD BETTER THAN HE FOUND IT. 

What is Masonry?

A fraternity dedicated to serving its local communities, donating to charitable organizations, and bettering the quality of life. It is a society of friends and brothers who, had they not found Masonry, would have never had the pleasure of knowing each other. Masonry is dedicated to "taking good men and making them better." While that statement is true, there are many other things Masonry is. Masonry itself is mysterious, and while men strive to understand the different teachings it emanates, they soon realize Masonry has squared them away on the journey; chipped away the rough edges, and slowly dispensed with the vices and superfluities of this world. It is dedicated to promoting the values of friendship, morality, and brotherly love among its members. It promotes the service of God, the service of family, the service of neighbors, and service to yourself long before it asks of a man's time or efforts.

Fact Check:  

Richlands Masonic Lodge was chartered on January 13, 1909. With an unbroken record, it remains active today and is full of members anxious to see what the future holds.
