ARTS ENRICHMENT

Plains Art Museum Outside Experience

In the fall of 2019 we invited the Plains Art Museum to Richland #44. Every student in grades 1-12 was given the opportunity to learn hand building with clay. The teachers were wonderful and the students were excited and engaged in the project. We were so impressed with the talent on display as the kids made penguins, cupcakes, cheeseburgers, and coil pots.

Thanks to the Plains Art Museum for making this possible. You can learn more about the youth programs available at museum.

Missoula Children’s Theater

The Missoula Children’s Theater (MCT) is the nation’s largest touring children’s theatre and has been touring extensively for more than 40 years now from Montana to Japan. They’ll be bringing their tour team with a set, lights, costumes, props and make-up, everything it takes to put on a play...except the cast. That's where we come in!

In 2017 and 2018, the PTO offered the full MCT experience at no cost to Richland elementary students. Each time, the kids have worked hard for a week of rehearsals to get ready for weekend productions of Aladdin (2017) and Black Beard the Pirate (2018).

Read about our Aladdin production and our Black Beard the Pirate show.

Through this unique educational program, kids can express their creativity as they build social and communication skills, achieve new goals, and build self-esteem. MCT's mission is the development of life skills in children through participation in the performing arts. For more information on MCT visit the theater's website.
