Our mountain was originally a farm in the late 1900's the farm shut down leaving only the mountain. The large hill sat in the middle of the village for nearly 70 years before being repurposed, into a sledding hill where children from the area all gathered in the winter time. After that the hill was officially made a sled resort where many people from the south flocked to, year after year. But not everything was perfect because a local native wanted possession of the mountain and after begging for many years finally earned rights to the mountain. Despite the new owner not allowing anybody to trespass on the property some local children disobeyed this and entered the mountain along with many others. This upset the new owner very much, so much that he reported it to the local police. Even though he reported the children, the police took no action. Which is how are trail system ended up being here today!
