Welcome!
I am a PhD candidate in economics at the University of Cape Town, a Senior Research Associate at MIDE Development, and a Research Affiliate at the Oxford Department of International Development (Young Lives).
My research interests are in applied development microeconomics, with a particular focus on human capital (labour, education, health). I am interested in investigating the effectiveness of policy in remediating inequities and, ultimately, aim to bridge the gap between the rigorous evidence of ‘what works’ in applied research and scaled policy and practice. My research has been published in the Journal of Development Economics, World Bank Economic Review, and Journal of Development Studies, among other outlets.
I have produced research output for several organisations including the Bill & Melinda Gates foundation, the Inter-American Development Bank, and the Oxford Martin School. I am also core member of Periods for Hope, a non-profit organisation in South Africa that aims to empower learners through reusable sanitary pad provision and sexual health knowledge dissemination.
