Dealing with Plots and Other Digital Graphics
Once a plot has been prepared--in JASP or jamovi, for example--it will eventially need to be converted to an appropriate image format (for inclusion in a web page, presentation, journal submission, etc).
Advantages of Outputing the Image as a PDF
The PDF will be a vector file, which maintains the image quality 100%. (The vector file is subsequently convertible to other common formats such as jpg, png, or tif).
You may want to use any of a variety of graphic editors to further edit the image. With appropriate software, PDF images can be edited directly, or can be converted into an easily ediiable format.
An Easy Way to Edit a Figure that's been Saved as a PDF
You can use LibreOffice Draw to open the PDF. The file will automaticall convert into LibreOffice's ODG format. From there--not-unlike Microsoft PowerPoint--you can click any of the figure's various parts and modify its attributes. You can also move entire figures around and arrange them into a composit plot. (Note Microsoft Office can't, itself, open a PDF image as an editable, vector graphic.)
You can save the LibreOffice Draw file in the default, ODG format, and/or in a variety of other formats including PDF.
Simple Cropping of a PDF
Open and crop it using PDFGear. Once the image is open in PDFGear, select 'Page' then 'Crop Pages.'
Viewing an EPS file in Windows or Linux
Use VectorCraft or GIMP.
