A few years ago, I decided to experiment with recording myself with the use of GarageBand on my MacBook. I purchased a Focusrite Scarlett Solo as my interface. (You plug your guitar into the interface and the interface into the USB port.) I film my videos on my iphone and the audio is from GarageBand. The sound quality is surprisely good.
