About

Overview

After a successful inaugural VegFest in 2018, the Rice Vegan Society continues on its newfound tradition of bringing communities together with their 2nd annual VegFest.

This year’s VegFest features renowned guest speakers, local businesses, education organizations, student engagement activities, festive performances, and many more activities cultivating an environment of love and knowledge.

Mission

The Rice Veg Fest shall serve as an educational platform for topics such as climate change, world hunger, social justice, health, ethics and animal rights. It shall demonstrate solutions for individuals and the community and outline how Rice University can take a leading role in manifesting institutional, sociological, industrial, economical and global changes. Finally, it shall foster collaborations among sustainability/health/ethical related student organizations, the SA and GSA, and institutional offices and departments; and open a dialogue within the Rice community about the power of food in its holistic, global context.
