This prototype was made for my Advanced games development assignment in my final year of university. I was given the task to design and develop a game that uses the OpenCV code library. I decided to make an arcade style shooter that uses face tracking through a facecam to allow the player to strafe and duck behind cover. The game is wave based and has a futuristic area and weapons.
Due to limitations in required technology, I could not develop the AR aspect of the game for an extended period of the development time. Due to this I had to program and design the gme to be very open, so that when I was able to, I could easily implement AR functionality. To do this, i added keyboard and mouse controls to every aspect of the game and kept in mind where the 'AR' functionality would need to be plugged in.
