Welcome!
I’m Ricardo Guimarães, a Brazilian mathematician and postdoctoral researcher at the Mathematical Institute, University of Oxford, working under the supervision of Prof. José A. Carrillo.
My research focuses on partial differential equations, especially on singularity formation and blow-up phenomena in fluid dynamics models such as the generalized surface quasi-geostrophic (gSQG) and magnetohydrodynamics (MHD) equations.
Beyond mathematics, I’m deeply passionate about photography and drone cinematography, capturing the world from unique perspectives, from the mountains of Brazil to the historic skyline of Oxford, see on my instagram @drone.martins.
