Md Riaz Kayser

Hello, I am excited that you are here!

I am Md Riaz Kayser, a Ph.D. candidate in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Texas Arlington. I have expertise in designing strong and tough multi-phase ceramics by Molecular Dynamics simulation and Finite Element modeling. I had the opportunity to blend Mechanical Engineering and Material Science in both course work and research. My goal is to understand the materials behavior in every scale so that by modeling the physical laws that are relevant at the mesoscale can generate the correct macroscopic properties. In my free time I love to cook, travel and spend times with family and friends.

Education

Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering (Expected August 2020): The University of Texas at Arlington, Texas, USA.

Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering(March 2012): Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology, Dhaka, Bangladesh

Before starting my PhD I worked as a graduate research assistant at University of Malaya, Malaysia. There I synthesized novel thermoelectric material to harness waste heat by using ball milling and high temperature sintering techniques. I also worked as research consultant to provide solution for efficient energy use of Top Glove Sdn bhd, Malaysia.

In addition, I served as an Assistant Engineer at Emergence Bio energy Inc, Bangladesh where I maintained a sterling engine to generate electricity from bio-gas, aiming to make people independent from the national grid in the rural areas.
