About Me

Welcome to my homepage!

I am a fifth year Ph.D. candidate in the Polymer Processing Group in the Department of Materials Engineering, Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore. I am advised by Prof. Suryasarathi Bose. My research at IISc is funded by the Prime Minister's Research Fellowship (PMRF), which I was awarded in 2020.

I am currently also a visiting graduate researcher at the Henry Samueli School of Engineering, University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) under this fellowship. I am hosted at UCLA by Prof. Eric M.V. Hoek. My visit is funded by the Fulbright-Nehru Doctoral Research (FNDR) Fellowship, which I was awarded for the 2023-2024 academic session.

My research interests span all aspects of structure-property relationships in polymer nanocomposites. A general theme underlying my current research projects is the engineering of bioinspired membranes for water remediation from interpenetrating polymeric networks (IPNs). I am also broadly interested in the following technical areas: water remediation, polymer nanocomposites, rubber, plastics, tires, paints and surface coatings, ink and printing, and nanotechnology.

I completed my M.Tech in Polymer Science and Technology at University College of Science, Technology and Agriculture (class of 2019). Prior to that, I completed my Post B.Sc B.Tech in Polymer Science and Technology at University College of Science, Technology and Agriculture (class of 2017) and my B.Sc (Hons.) in Chemistry at St. Xavier's College, Kolkata (class of 2014).
