Welcome to The Rhymekeeper’s Lantern (“TRL,” “we,” “our,” or “us”). By visiting our website, listening to our content, watching our videos, subscribing to The Lantern Ledger, supporting the project, purchasing products, or using links on this website, you agree to these Terms of Service.

If you do not agree with these terms, please do not use the website, subscribe to the newsletter, or purchase from TRL.

1. About TRL

The Rhymekeeper’s Lantern is a dark folklore storytelling project featuring original horror stories, audio episodes, videos, written content, lore-card material, newsletters, merchandise, digital products, and related creative work inspired by myths, legends, fairy tales, nursery rhymes, folk songs, and folklore traditions.

2. Content Warning

TRL content may include dark folklore, horror themes, unsettling imagery, supernatural themes, death, curses, old warnings, fear, implied danger, and other mature or frightening subject matter.

Content is provided for storytelling, entertainment, artistic, and educational-adjacent purposes. It is not professional advice, historical authority, religious guidance, medical advice, legal advice, or psychological advice.

3. Intellectual Property

Unless otherwise stated, all TRL stories, text, artwork, branding, logos, lore cards, puzzle systems, episode materials, audio concepts, written materials, newsletter content, and related creative assets are owned by The Rhymekeeper’s Lantern or used with permission.

You may not copy, sell, reproduce, upload, modify, distribute, scrape, train AI systems on, or commercially use TRL content without written permission.

You may share official public links to TRL episodes, videos, pages, newsletters, or products.

4. Third-Party Platforms

TRL may link to or appear on third-party platforms including Spotify, Apple Podcasts, YouTube, YouTube Music, Amazon Music, Audible, iHeartRadio, Pocket Casts, Castbox, JioSaavn, Gaana, Beehiiv, Ko-fi, Buy Me a Coffee, Libro.fm, Stripe, PayPal, Google, and others.

Those platforms have their own terms, privacy policies, payment rules, refund rules, account rules, email rules, and content rules. TRL is not responsible for third-party platform outages, account issues, billing errors, technical problems, privacy practices, or policy changes.

TRL is not officially endorsed by Spotify, Apple, YouTube, Google, Beehiiv, Ko-fi, Buy Me a Coffee, Libro.fm, Stripe, PayPal, or any other third-party platform unless expressly stated.

5. Newsletter and Mailing List

TRL may send email updates through The Lantern Ledger, hosted by Beehiiv or another email service provider.

Newsletter emails may include episode updates, release notes, archive material, creative updates, supporter information, product announcements, affiliate links, book or audiobook recommendations, lore-card updates, and other TRL-related communications.

Subscribing to The Lantern Ledger is voluntary and does not require a purchase, donation, membership, or support payment.

Newsletter delivery, signup forms, subscriber management, analytics, and unsubscribe handling may be processed through Beehiiv or another email service provider according to that provider’s own terms and privacy practices.

6. Support, Tips, Donations, and Memberships

TRL may accept voluntary support through Ko-fi, Buy Me a Coffee, or similar platforms.

One-time support, tips, and donations are voluntary. They do not create an employment relationship, ownership interest, partnership, or guaranteed right to future content.

Recurring memberships or supporter benefits, if offered, are handled through the relevant platform. You are responsible for managing or cancelling your subscription through that platform.

Unless required by law, recurring support is not partially refunded for unused time after a billing period has started.

7. Products, Lore Cards, Merchandise, and Digital Items

TRL may sell or offer products through Ko-fi, a storefront, or another third-party platform. Products may include:

• lore cards;

• art prints;

• digital downloads;

• audio products;

• ebooks or guides;

• merchandise;

• limited reward items;

• puzzle-winner reward items;

• other TRL-related creative products.

Product descriptions, prices, availability, shipping timelines, and delivery methods will be listed on the relevant product page when available.

Limited products may sell out and may not be restocked.

8. Digital Product Policy

Digital products are for personal use only unless a separate written license says otherwise.

You may not resell, redistribute, upload, share, edit for resale, or commercially exploit digital downloads.

Because digital products can be accessed immediately, digital purchases are generally final once delivered or downloaded, except where required by law or where there is a duplicate charge, failed delivery, or defective file that cannot reasonably be corrected.

9. Physical Product Return Policy

For physical products such as lore cards, prints, or merchandise:

• Returns may be accepted within 14 days of delivery if the item is unused, undamaged, and returned in its original condition.

• Buyers must contact TRL before returning an item.

• Buyers are responsible for return shipping unless the item arrived damaged, defective, or incorrect.

• Refunds are processed after the returned item is received and inspected.

• Original shipping costs, customs fees, duties, and taxes may not be refundable unless required by law.

• Personalized, limited, sealed, reward-only, or custom items may not be returnable unless damaged, defective, or incorrect.

10. Damaged, Defective, or Incorrect Items

If a physical item arrives damaged, defective, or incorrect, contact us within 7 days of delivery with your order information and clear photos of the item and packaging.

We may offer a replacement, refund, store credit, or another reasonable solution depending on the situation and product availability.

11. Shipping Policy

Shipping timelines, methods, and costs will be shown on the product page or checkout page when physical products are available.

Buyers are responsible for providing an accurate shipping address. TRL is not responsible for packages delayed, returned, lost, or misdelivered because of an incorrect address provided by the buyer.

International buyers are responsible for any customs fees, duties, import taxes, or local charges unless otherwise stated.

Shipping estimates are not guaranteed delivery dates.

12. Preorders and Limited Releases

TRL may offer preorders or limited releases in the future.

Estimated production or shipping timelines are estimates only and may change because of printing, manufacturing, platform, shipping, customs, or supplier delays.

If a preorder is significantly delayed, TRL may provide an update, offer a cancellation option before shipping, or provide another reasonable solution.

Please include your name, order number, purchase platform, item purchased, and reason for the request.

Refunds may be limited by the rules and technical limits of the platform used for purchase, such as Ko-fi, Buy Me a Coffee, Stripe, PayPal, or another provider.

14. Affiliate Disclosure

Some links on the TRL website, episode descriptions, show notes, social posts, newsletters, or product pages may be affiliate links. This means TRL may earn a commission if you click the link and make a qualifying purchase, at no extra cost to you.

Current or planned affiliate relationships may include Libro.fm and other relevant book, audiobook, podcast, merchandise, or creator-support platforms.

Bookshop.org is not currently active for TRL and should not be treated as part of this disclosure until added.

Affiliate links do not control our creative opinions. We recommend products, books, audiobooks, or services because they fit the TRL world, audience, or project.

15. User Submissions, Puzzle Entries, and Community Messages

If you send TRL a message, comment, review, puzzle submission, reward claim, idea, or other content, you confirm that you have the right to send it.

Unless a separate agreement says otherwise, sending a message or submission does not give you ownership of TRL content, puzzles, stories, or future creative work.

TRL may choose not to respond to every message or submission.

Puzzle answers, hidden-solve details, and reward-verification systems may remain private. TRL is not required to publicly reveal puzzle answers.

16. Prohibited Uses

You agree not to use the website or TRL platforms to:

• break the law;

• infringe intellectual property rights;

• harass, threaten, impersonate, or abuse others;

• submit spam, malware, scams, or fraudulent messages;

• attempt to interfere with the website or third-party platforms;

• scrape, copy, or commercially exploit TRL content without permission;

• submit false order claims, fraudulent disputes, or misleading information.

17. No Guarantees

TRL is provided “as is.” We do our best to keep information accurate and links functional, but we do not guarantee that the website, products, platforms, episodes, newsletters, links, files, or services will always be available, error-free, uninterrupted, or current.

Third-party platforms may change their services, policies, pricing, availability, or technical features at any time.

18. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, TRL is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the website, content, products, newsletters, links, third-party platforms, or services.

Nothing in these terms limits rights that cannot be limited under applicable law.

19. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new “Last updated” date.

Your continued use of the website, newsletter, products, or TRL platform links after changes are posted means you accept the updated terms.

20. Governing Law

These terms are intended to be governed by the laws of Canada and the applicable laws of the province or territory where TRL is operated, without limiting any consumer rights that may apply in your location.
