This program is designed to make Hillel’s financial and logistical resources more readily available to student clubs, and to better integrate the Jewish community at Rutgers. Recognized clubs are entitled to up to $100 per semester in reimbursements from the Hillel Student Board (clubs with more than $150 in other funding are not eligible for this benefit), space reservation in Hillel, access to relevant portions of the Hillel email list, and promotion on Hillel social media accounts.
Any club that contributes to the Rutgers Jewish community and is approved by the Hillel Student Board is eligible for this program.
Registered clubs are expected to occasionally assist in serving Shabbat dinners.
To be a recognized Hillel club, please fill out the Hillel Club Application. Upon submission, your application will be reviewed by the Student Board. You will be contacted with a decision or follow-up items within one academic week. After approval by the Student Board, official registration is pending until a representative from the club meets with Rabbi Reed for the Hillel Club Orientation.
Timing
This form may be submitted anytime during the year, up until April 1st
Submissions received after April 1st will be considered for the following academic year
This form must be resubmitted each academic year, no earlier than April 1st of the previous academic year
Reimbursement is designed to make it easy for a small clubs with specific purposes and limited financial needs to operate without the administrative burdens that come with being an organization recognized by the Department of Student Involvement and funded through the RUSA Allocations Board. If you would like to be recognized by the Department of Student Involvement instead, please visit their website. This process can take a while, so you may want to apply to receive funding from the Hillel Student Board in the interim, so that you can begin operating sooner. If you are recognized by Student Involvement, you will no longer be eligible for funding from the Hillel Student Board.
