Plans for the weekend:

Friday, August 9

4:00 It all begins with a social and evening at the "barn" - 5000 NW 35th, Topeka; a large, VERY nice air-conditioned barn! Brush up now on your RHS memories; they might come in handy!

The evening meal will be catered by HHB BBQ - pork, brisket, cheesy potatoes, baked beans, water & tea. BYOB if other beverages are desired.

50 years in 50 seconds - Class members will be given the opportunity to share the last 50 years of their lives in 50 seconds!

DJ Rick Robinson will provide music and entertainment from the 60's from 8-10 PM.

Dress is casual.

Saturday, August 10

8:30 AM Meet at the Senior Center (429 Pearl St. by the water tower) in Rossville to assemble a float for us to ride in the parade. Please bring candy or gum to toss to the parade bystanders. What to wear: a specially-designed "Class of 69" t-shirt that you will be given Friday evening along with your choice of jeans or shorts.

10:00 AM Ride in the Tall Corn Festival Parade.

Following the parade, the Senior Citizens' Center (south of the Methodist church) will be our home base. It has been rented for the whole day for class members to use for visiting, playing games or just relaxing.

Lunch - Feel free to visit food vendors that will be in the City Park.

Afternoon - Enjoy visiting the vendors in the park or come to the Senior Citizens' Center for visiting. Snacks will be provided.

5:00 PM - Evening meal and social for our class at the Rossville Senior Center. Following our get-together, the American Legion will be open and there will be a street dance for those who might be interested.

Sunday, August 11 - One last opportunity before we say "goodbye"

10:30 AM Sunday Morning Brunch Buffet at the Capitol City Hotel, 1717 SW Topeka Blvd. The cost of $13/person plus gratuity and tax is not included in your reservation. You will pay for this that morning.

Our class will have a beautiful area in the atrium of the hotel to eat together. Come enjoy one last meal together before ending our BIG weekend.
