Having grown up in the country, I have a love for the land and its creatures. With degrees in history and politics from Trent University, and Theology from Saint Paul University, I have a strong passion for social and ecological justice as well as a deep sense of the sacred in all of Creation. As a feminist, I am particularly sensitive to the realities of the marginalized.

I am inspired by landscapes in all seasons, by liminal times and spaces, by prophesy and poetry, by stories of  challenge and courage, by blossoms in my backyard. Thus my work ranges from plein air landscapes to intuitive abstracts. After years as a mother of four sons and a parish priest, I have in recent years been able to explore these themes through a variety of media—acrylic, watercolour, mixed media…. I have benefited from a number of teachers in person and online.

In COVID isolation, I spent more time in my studio and was able to display work in the Down Cellar Gallery in my home. The proceeds of my July 2020 show, “Unbound” was shared with Nelson House [https://nelsonhouse.on.ca/] , a shelter for victims of domestic violence, and the Primate’s World Relief and Development Fund of the Anglican Church of Canada [pwrdf.org]. My December 2020 show was called "Rebound".

My explorations continued in following years with shows that benefitted Nelson House and  Tungasuvvigat Inuit Ottawa.. My paintings have found their way to the US, Germany, New Zealand and Japan.

In 2024, I downsized, gave up my Down Cellar Gallery and moved to an apartment near Britannia Park and Mud Lake in West Ottawa. They provide constant inspiration.
