The Rhinoplasty Procedure
A careful examination to the patient will be done by the surgeon before the actual surgery. You will be oriented on the method of rhinoplasty and how it could affect your entire facial appearance. Developing a relationship of trust with the surgeon will help you gain more confidence for the surgery. That is why most plastic surgeons have a friendly personality, especially when around their clients.
During the initial assessment with the plastic surgeon, he or she may ask you personal questions, specifically things regarding your health. Patients with poor health conditions may not be permitted to undergo nose job or any cosmetic surgery. The plastic surgeon may decide on the best treatment that can be applicable to the patient. You should not be afraid to ask questions to your surgeon. You should inquire about what will happen before, during, and after the procedure.
You may be advised to make necessary preparations weeks before your surgery. Taking a balanced diet, regular exercise, and food supplement intake are just some of the things that a surgeon will recommend to their client as part of the preparation for rhinoplasty. You will not lose consciousness during the operation but you will not feel any pain for the entire period due to the general anaesthesia that will be applied beforehand. A rhinoplasty treatment will take around 2 to 5 hours to complete. After the surgery, you may feel a little discomfort on some areas of your face for a few weeks. You will then have to regularly visit your surgeon until the whole treatment is complete.
