Rhinelander Basketball Association sponsors competivite teams to play in the Great Northwest Basketball League. Travel is required as tournaments are held in various communities throughout Northeastern Wisconsin. Tournaments are typically held on Saturdays and teams play three to four games.
Because Rhinelander middle school athletics are WIAA sanctioned, 6th/7th/8th girl seasons will run October - December and 7th/8th grade boy seasons will run January - March. Seasons for girls in 5th grade and boys in 5th and 6th grades will run January - March.
At the 5th and 6th grade level, fair playing time in the course of a tournament is the goal. 7th and 8th grade teams are more competitive, team success being the goal, equal playing time is not guaranteed, but afforded as best as possible on a reasonable basis. Depending upon player counts, try-outs or rotating tournaments rosters may be required.
