Forgive

Forgive the rain, nourishing the plants

Rainfall, drizzle, flood

Forgive the dark, photosynthesis

Sun cycle, galaxy patterns

Forgive the earth eclipse, the moon cradle

Crescent silver, iridescent shine

Forgive the sound, the sound of life

The first laughter, the first cry

Forgive the upside down, the mind flat.

The standing tree

Tough bark that splits at the trunk

Dark brown skin crawling up the neck

Long twisting branches that reach for the sun

Long green needles sewing and big blanket of fir

Body Swaying in the wind

Back and forth like the sun across the sky

Day and night growing inch by inch

The tree nourishes in its stance
